Lorne is full of natural beauty and wonder, however, there are also a huge number of facilities and activities for holiday makers to enjoy when in Lorne. There are activities for all ages and budgets!

Lorne has a surf beach so surfing is a popular past time in Lorne. Don’t worry if you don’t have a surfboard, you can hire a surfboard and a wetsuit from Lorne Surf Shop on Mountjoy Parade, starting at $20 for 2 hours. If you want to learn to surf the Lorne beach is ideal as it is a safe surf beach with gentle waves.

There are a number of popular fishing spots in Lorne, the most famous is the Pier, but Reedy Creek, Loutit Bay and Lorne Beach are also popular. There is some great rock fishing on Artillery Rocks but you need to be aware of slippery rocks and tide movements. If you are wanting to go fishing you need to obtain a permit from the Lorne Visitor Information Centre. Around the area in the estuaries and fresh waters and the ocean there is a wide variety of fish.
